Decided to pass on the Jeep. The rust was MUCH MUCH MUCH worse than I thought it was. Like holy shit, where was the rust proofing department in 2002?
Rust literally everywhere, every inch of the undercarriage looked like it was on the verge of falling to pieces. A simple prod would send sheets of rust down.

A 14 year old Jeep with 350,000 miles on it was super rusty? Who would have guessed.

“Jeep for sale, 300,000 miles, mild rust, leaking doors and roof, needs new shocks, bushings, brakes and tires. $15,000 OBO.” - every TJ owner on Craigslist.

Said person wants around $3,000 for it.

Well it was a Carolina car, which somewhat surprised me.

4 cylinder? Yank the motor and drop in a v8 if the rest of it is clean.

V8 and nothing is clean at all.

Where in Carolina? It could’ve possibly spent its life in the mountains with salt or by the ocean...with sea salt breezes.

North-west part of the state IIRC.

Eeyup, it saw winters with salt-covered iced roads.
